The rumours were true. How bloody strange! First the new bank holiday, and now, standing beneath the giant effigy, it all felt highly surreal. The crazy bastards had gone and done it - They’d made a 30ft high effigy of you. You! Same head. Same shoulders (the effigy was very complementary) and most importantly, same suit, but all in plaster paris. An off pink cotton drill, which you had tailor-made by Beggars Run. You really loved the suit (so breathable) but you had no idea of the impact it would have on the people around you. They flipped out. It kicked off with the postman - the first person to see you in it. Down went his bag and off he ran, screaming “HE IS RISEN”! The proverbial domino effect soon took place and the public holiday was decreed. So it was to be an annual procession, your giant likeness was to be carried from town to town to bless the people and livestock. And just before midnight, to be set alight till it became floating embers. “Not with you in it!!” they assured. Welcome to the life of a Demi-God*. [*not sacrifice]
